Charlottesville, Virginia—January 2, 2003—Paladin Pictures, LLC has signed a five year distribution agreement with the Bankruptcy Law Section of the Virginia State Bar for the purposes of promoting and selling the Bar's film Bankruptcy Chapter 7: Your Rights & Responsibilities.
Paladin Pictures has been granted distribution rights to the film outside the Commonwealth of Virginia where consumers, lawyers, law firms, legal libraries and other State Bars will be among the targeted audience. Your Rights & Responsibilities covers Chapter 7 bankruptcy in a dramatized and easily understood manner.
The film follows a young married couple as they successfully traverse the struggles and pitfalls of bankruptcy and shows viewers that by being honest and following the rules of the court bankruptcy can be survived. Paladin Pictures owner and the film’s producer Kent C. Williamson said, "Bankruptcy is impacting the American culture in epidemic proportions. We at Paladin are hopeful that Your Rights & Responsibilities will help many individuals navigate their way to a fresh start."
Bankruptcy topics explained in the film include: liquidation, legal liability, secured & unsecured debts, tax obligations, exempt & non-exempt property, abandoned property, homestead exemptions, automatic stay, discharged debts, undisclosed & hidden assets, reaffirmation agreements, redemptions, section 341, fraud, and credit reports.
